Plover War
We where doing a bit of birding at one of the last water holes that have not dried up yet. When this little Three banded plover come flying past a full speed with 2 Blacksmith plovers in hot pursuit. They flew low over the water with the blacksmith plovers taking the chase in turns as the one would rest. This went on for about 15 – 20 minutes, every time we thought the little three banded plover had escaped the blacksmith would come bombing in. It eventually ended when the three banded managed to out maneuver the blacksmiths, and they settled at opposite side of the water to continue the day feeding.
