Kirkman's Kamp
Kirkman's Kamp, with its spectacular views of the unspoilt wilderness and the Sabi Sand River, is regarded as one of the best loved lodges in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. A well known historic camp, originally built in the early 1920's Kirkmans Kamp celebrates the atmosphere of an early South African lowveld homestead.

Rain
February is suppost to be our heaviest rainfall month of the year and yet this february we have had no rain at all. Everything on the reserve was extremely dry and the water level of the Sand River very low. As we set of on game drive yesterday afternoon the clowds where getting very dark and it looked like rain. This morning at around two it finally came down heavily. We had 35 milliletres of rain. It was wonderfull to go on game drive and see that all mud walloes are full again, and the smell in the air from after the rain was lovely, and fresh.
