Baghvan
Baghvan is aptly named after one of India's iconic symbols, the Bengal tiger (bagh - tiger and van - forest). This enchanting lodge is located on the edge of Pench National Park, a dry deciduous forest of predominantly teak trees and meandering jungle streams.
A typical Central Indian teak jungle, Pench supports a rich variety of wildlife, including the tiger, leopard, wild dog, gaur, sambar, chital and brilliant birdlife. The Park's open habitat not only lends well to wildlife viewing, but it also offers striking views of the area's sheer beauty. This national park received international recognition from Rudyard Kipling's classic tale, the Jungle Book.

Ratsnakes :Tangled love!
While we had stopped at a water hole and waiting for the Tigress, who used to come almost every evening, my Guest spotted a snake coming out of a Termite mound! We immediately grabbed binocs and started observing it. It was long Ratsnake just coming out of the hole and as we watched another one came out of the hole and they both started to tangle and started raising up twisted!. The courting went for not that long when one of them went back into the hole and other to the short grass but in few mins they resumed again, so i was not sure whether its mating pair or two males in 'combat dance'. But it most likely a mating pair. It was quiet a unusual sighting for all of us and i had never seen any snakes courting before.
