Madikwe
Madikwe Safari Lodge is situated in the heart of the richly diverse and malaria-free 76 000-hectare (187 800-acre) Madikwe Game Reserve – one of South Africa’s biggest wildlife sanctuaries. Famed for Operation Phoenix, the world’s largest game translocation exercise with the introduction of more than 8 000 animals, Madikwe’s diverse geology and broad mix of habitats allows a wide range of African wildlife to flourish – including the Big Five, cheetah and a thriving population of wild dog.

Rumble in Madikwe
It all started with a peacefull lion sighting of 3 young lions which are part of a pride of 7. As we left we got a call saying a big male lion was chasing one of the young males staight towards us, not a minute later come this poor male flying out the bush with tthe big male after him, the youngsters then scattered, there where lion every where. So we followed the big male until he bumped into one of the other young males and caught him, all we saw was dust then the youngster disappering with speed as ha escaped. This went on for about 40 minutes, this big male was in seach of the youngsters. We lost the big male but found the 2 young males who where now moving out the area as fast as possible with the roar of the big male not far in the distance. So we followed these 2 until we found that the other females had killed an impala at the airstrip so we watched them feed, and went on our way. Just to end the morning we saw a herd of about 200 Buffalo on the way home... Not a bad Drive!!!!!!!
