The locations of these migratory camps are carefully plotted to coincide with the documented movements of the annual Great Migration as it traverses the Serengeti plains. Having secured some of the Serengeti’s best semi-permanent campsites, we are able to bring our guests as close as possible to the migration or resident game. These campsites are all prebooked for &Beyond’s use, allowing us tremendous flexibility in moving our camps according to the expected migration movements.
SOMEBODY’S LIFE SAVED NEAR BY THE LIONS KILL.
As I was driving with my guests early in the Morning to the big Marsh we saw a pride of lions sleeping also there was a group of wildebeest grazing about 300m away. We stopped and watched them for while and the pride of lioness shows an interest to the group of wildebeest. A single lioness went around and chased the wildebeest towards the other lions that were already positioning themselves at the right point and managed to kill one wildebeest by suffocation. After few minutes other 9 cubes emerged from the bush and joined by the kill. We were all excited, then I heard a whistling call from a distance and I wasn’t sure if that was a bird call or something else. My guests also asked me what is that call?. We carefully investigated and saw a man walking on foot towards us and lions kill waving a red shirt. After one second the pride of lions was alerted, and one lioness was ready to go. I then drove the vehicle fast ahead of the lions to save the life of this man who was still coming and waving his shirt without acknowledging that he was very close to the pride. I stopped my vehicle and let him come in. We asked him why he was walking by himself in such dangerous environment. He told us that his car was broken and had guests in and was looking for a help and had no idea that there were some lions nearby. But he had a plan of climbing in a tree if any danger could appear in front of him. We drove him to where he left his vehicle and found his guests sitting and waiting for him to come back. We managed to assist him and his vehicle started and then he drove very fast to the pride of lions to show his guests. The lions were relaxed and feeding on prey, and we all were very happy to be able to save somebody’s life in the bush
