Spectacular Spectacular
In my last few days as a Kwandwe guide I am constantly reminded of the wonder and magic that this place has to offer. It is with a heavy heart that I leave some of the most magnificent cheetah sightings that Africa has to offer. The open plains and undulating terrain seem to suit these spectacular animals and it seems as if they had never left. The truly spectacular north of the reserve boasts mountain elephants, intent on finding the most scenic spots to feed. The Great Fish River gouges out a beautiful valley which provides the setting for great birding, scenic drinks stops, and the ever illusive, but continually familiar leopard. The miracle is that Kwandwe is still shaping and forming, and every year, with the help of an incredible team, Kwandwe continues to become just as spectacular as this area was, a thousand years ago.
