&BEYOND Kirkman's Kamp
Kirkman's Kamp, with its spectacular views of the unspoilt wilderness and the Sabi Sand River, is regarded as one of the best loved lodges in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. A well known historic camp, originally built in the early 1920's Kirkmans Kamp celebrates the atmosphere of an early South African lowveld homestead.

Stampede of buffalo
The winter at Kirkman’s Kamp is on its way. The nights become longer, the days shorter, the mornings colder, the grass drier and the buffalos more. This morning we watched a herd of about 300 Buffalos at one of the open areas and another one of at least 200 was found on its way to the sand river to drink some water. In winter time the buffalos generally form bigger herds to migrate through the Kruger Park and the Sabi Sands to find water and palatable grass. We’re very exited to welcome more of those huge stampedes of buffalos around Kirkman’s Kamp in the next couple of month.
