SWAMP LIONS IN CAMP
The day began like always, waking up guests at 05h30 to leave for a morning drive around 06h30. The guests in room two were about to leave to come to the main area but didn't make it out to their door step as they were met with three lions, just about 20m away from their room! The couple, Gunther and Patty, from Serowe, came all that way for an experience just like that and were fortunate enough to witness lions at close range firsthand. I walked to their room after they called us to come and view the lions but they were gone by the time I got there. We arrived at the main area shortly thereafter and decided to take boats to go and watch them where they were going to cross. When we arrived they had already crossed and we saw them on the other side of the bank. Despite missing the lions cross, there came an elephant and gave us the show we missed by crossing into the camp. The elephant was probably wanting to get to the marula tree fruits because they are ripe. After all this excitement we saw a spotted hyena crossing the road when we were out a little while later in the vehicle on game drive.
