Tanzania’s national parks and game reserves cover one seventh of the country and include the Serengeti National Park, which is famous for its vast migratory herds of plains animals, particularly wildebeest, zebra, eland and kudu. There are small bands of chimpanzees that can be found in the Gombe National Park along Lake Tanganyika. The steep mountain walls of the Ngorongoro Crater provide protection and a natural enclosure for animals in an environment of great natural beauty. The crater forms a part of the Ngorongoro Park. Rhino and elephant numbers are still low due to poaching in the past, despite the government’s protective measures.

With all the rain we had, you cannot miss the great entertainment from our lovely hippos just in front of your lounge when sipping the lemonade cocktail. Hippo life in the water looks so amazing. Despite their huge bodies they are very caring creatures.

We were out on Bayena the other day, when we spied this beautiful, blue Ribbon Eel (Rhinomuraena quaesita). Ribbon Eels have an amazing life cycle, they are the only moray eel that is protandric, which means they change sex during their life from male to female. As juveniles they are jet black, but they begin their adult lives as males, in the...

What a wonderful morning with my staff on the game drive. We thought that since we are a bit quiet, why not have a short game drive to uplift our spirits. Suddenly we come across with this big herd of elephants that were all over the bush on our right hand side. They were about 10 metres from our vehicle. We could not believe it. Our driver, Humprey...

The morning is always a good opportunity for every hunter despite the length of the night time. We watched this buffalo for a little while, just a few metres away from him and you could tell by his face that he was not too impressed with our arrival. They can be dangerous when they are lonely and therefore we did not spend too much time with him....

At about 07:15 around Ziwani area {lake magadi} we saw a new wildebeest calf being born which was about 5 minutes old. The calf lay down and the mother tried to get the calf to stand up. After about 2 minutes the calf started suckling and we left when the calf started to run around here and there.

Just close to "Msalaba mkubwa", we were watching a Golden Jackal, when we saw a sub adult hyena coming on our side. When the hyena was about 2 metres away from the jackal, it started barking while the hyena didn't pay any attention. The jackal continued barking and confronted the hyena. As the hyena didn't seem to mind, the jackal followed it...
