Xaranna
&Beyond's Xaranna Tented Camp is situated near a permanent channel of the Okavango Delta in 25 000 hectares of pristine wilderness that is shared by only 18 guests. The Camp boasts breathtaking views of the channel, providing guests with a water and wilderness experience that combines the best of what the Okavango has to offer. Birders should watch out for the elusive Pel's fishing owl, while the endangered African wild dog and semi-aquatic red lechwe are endemic to the area. |
THE BOYS ARE BACK
I always find the last game drive with guests the most special. We were driving past a dam filled with hippos and the sun was slowly getting behind the clouds, the hippos found it to be the perfect temperature to leave the dam to go for a morning snack! As we had stopped to view the hippos, we heard some alarm calls from impala just in front of us. Suddenly, the hippos disappeared into the bushes and we quickly got to where the impala were alarming. My tracker whose name is Mott, shouted with excitement, "lions, lions!!". Mott quickly jumped off the tracker seat as the vehicle stopped and joined us inside. We approached the lions and followed them as they were scent marking the area. After some time, they finally laid down. We spent a good amount of time with them and the impala eventually left to go to a safer place.
