The lion, the elephant and the warthog
2 days ago the lions of the area killed a young giraffe. After such a big meal they were lazy and kept to the area. On the afternoon drive we found after we heard them growl. They were lying in the rays of the setting sun close to a water hole. We were about to leave the lazy two when we heard some noise in the distance. An elephant was approaching the lions. With trunk in the air the elephant smell the lions and left. We took some more photos and again heard a noise in the background.
This time it was a warthog approaching the waterhole. This could be a possible meal and the one lion followed the warthog and the other one turned to face the waterhole.
The warthog wanted to drink some water but instinct told it that there was danger and it moved off. Just then the elephant approached the waterhole from a different angle. We saw the lions looking at the elephant who passed the waterhole with the most beautiful sunset behind him. Who could not think that watching two sleeping lions would later give such excitement.
