The story of the giraffe
The giraffe was first noticed on the 12th of November with no wounds on the body and no predators in sight. Cause of the death was unsure. The first to arrive at the scene the next morning was a single hyena. He was very nervous and I am sure could not believe his luck that he had a fully grown male giraffe to himself. He left and then two hours later 70 vultures arrived at the scene trying to tear at the one opening the hyena had mad. They kept at it for the day until night fell. The first to arrive that night was a young male leopard tearing away at the opening. Then five hyenas came in to chase him off. Eventually an hour later the lions arrived and took control over the situation chasing all far away. Some of the lionesses walked straight pass the dead giraffe and went and caught an impala some two hundred meters away. The lions kept control over the area fro the next two days only allowing the odd vulture in for scarps. The lions then left the carcass to give way for the vultures and hyena to get stuck in They have now been fighting it over for the last 24 hours.
