Thekwane Male stikes again
I could not beleive my eyes when I was called to a sighting of a Male leopard with a kudu kill. The amazing part about this sighting was that the kudu was a full grown adult female. The male leopard that killed her was not even as big as he could be, he is only around 6 years old and still has some bulking out to do. We knew when we saw the kill that he would not be able to keep it, we knew that it was only a matter of time before something, either lions, hyena or crocs would steal his meal from him. The carcass was just too big and too heavy for him to tree it or drag it away. The kill was only 4 or 5 meters from the edge of of the Sand River and there were already two large crocs in the water waiting. Thekwane never stops amazing us, he is a leopard with such character .
I was lucky enough to witness Thekwane begin eating this kill. Craig is right. Thekwane is amazing. First he mesmorized me with his beauty and than he showed his strength as he pulled and tugged at the kill that probably weighed more than he. What an amazing spectacle of nature.
