Two leopards with kill
Heading towards the lodge after the afternoon/evening game drive we found tracks of two leopards on the road. Our ranger, Vincent, said that these were very fresh as one of the other game vehicles said they had been on the road earlier in the evening. We followed the tracks closer to the lodge. At this stage we could already see some of the tents. The tracks went into the bushes and we followed. We found a leopard lying on the branch of a fallen tree. Our tracker Stanley said that he is hearing something further in the bushes. 5 meters forward we found another leopard eating on its impala kill. We enjoyed the sighting for a couple of minutes before the one leopard disappeared in the darkness and the other pulled the kill further into the bushes. This was so close to out tent that we did not walk to it as usual but were driven. The next morning we found the kill hoisted into a tree which we could see from the trail that we walk between the tent and the main lodge.
