WARTHOG KILL!
We drove from Phinda Mountain Lodge in the afternoon in search of the lions. It was just Vincent and myself in the vehicle. We went to the last position where they were last seen which was at the quarry just off Sodwana Bay road. We got there and found their tracks. We followed the tracks on Mangoose Alley. The tracks went off of Mangoose Alley towards Feever Pan. By that time game drive vehicles were making their way to help locate the pride of seven that we were tracking. Mike Sutherland came to help track them and he drove down Feever Pan road. We continued driving on Mangoose Alley and just towards ubombo view junction we saw the one female from the pride. She growled at us and chased after a warthog in the long grass. The other members from the pride were lying down waiting to ambush the warthog and within seconds they had the it in the middle of them. The warthog was squealing and did not know what was happening because it couldn`t see what was up aheard of it as a result of the long grass. The lions took it down and started to feed on it. The noise that they made while feeding was amazing and very rewarding after all the effort we put into tracking them! It was the first lion kill I have seen happen infront of me!
