Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp consists of ten delightful tents tucked away in the extraordinary Serengeti National Park - widely seen as the planet's greatest functioning ecosystem. The Grumeti River has some of the world's biggest hippos and Nile Crocodiles. During certain times of year, you have a ring-side seat for the famous great migration.
What a Show
Early in the morning at 6:45am we departed the camp for game drive. Just few metres from the lodge we found seven Lions. And among them was the famous grumeti three-legged male Lion, all of them relaxing in the morning sunrise.
We left them and headed towards the Grumeti plain. West of Masira hill we spotted a Cheetah with four cubs feeding on an Impala. As if that wasn't enough, when we arrived at the Grumeti river we enjoyed a great Crocodile show, more than ten crocodiles were feeding on a wildebeest, rolling in the water and trying to tear the flesh off. If they were lucky, each crocodile might have a gotten one bite atleast!
