Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp consists of ten delightful tents tucked away in the extraordinary Serengeti National Park - widely seen as the planet's greatest functioning ecosystem. What aday!!!
The day was just getting warm when we decided we should get back to the camp for breakfast. On the way one of the guests that was sitting behind me shouted a lion! Everybody looked to where he pointed. There was a female lion that was crouching very low in the grass. As we watched, a zebra appeared from a distance running to the direction of the lioness. She quickly positioned herself for the hunt and everyone stayed still to see what will happen. The zebra just went straight to the trap and what followed was a kill. The lioness took about 15 to 20 min to kill it. She went back and fetched her two cubs that were hiding not far from the scene. We stayed there for almost two hours watching and I think everybody forgot about breakfast coz we were so excited. Later we went back for lunch instead and it was the talk of the day back in the camp, for the whole day! What a sighting!!!
