Who's that reflection
Of late we have had a young unidentified male leopard moving around the areas of Exeter River Lodge and Exeter Leadwood Lodge. All we know about him is that he seems to be around the 5 year old mark and is very bold and relaxed. I recently had an amazing sighting of the young male leopard walking through Leadwood camp on an afternoon game drive. We followed him through the camp and watched as he walked down the pathway and up to the mirrors that were hanging up at the entrance to the main area. We laughed out loud as we watched him snarling at his reflection. He immediately went low to the ground and ran around the corner in search of his reflection. After playing around on the furniture he eventually moved out of the camp and into the river. The same male leopard was een again at inside Exeter River Lodge last night while we were all in the boma. I walked into him as he lay at the top of the stairs outside the bar. We both got a fright and stared at one another for a brief moment when he all of a sudden ran off towards the boma where our butlers spotted him turning off towards reception. A great reason why not to walk alone at night through these beautiful camps.
