Xaranna
&Beyond's Xaranna Tented Camp is situated near a permanent channel of the Okavango Delta in 25 000 hectares of pristine wilderness that is shared by only 18 guests. The Camp boasts breathtaking views of the channel, providing guests with a water and wilderness experience that combines the best of what the Okavango has to offer. Birders should watch out for the elusive Pel's fishing owl, while the endangered African wild dog and semi-aquatic red lechwe are endemic to the area. |

As we headed out on our early morning game drive we watched the sun rising through the mist hanging between the Jackalberry and Palm trees. We crossed over a deep channel, enough to get your feet wet and onto an island that held many surprises and awesome sightings! We found lion tracks, heard monkeys and baboons alarm calling, we even found a Spotted...

What a treat for big game lovers. Seeing lions at &Beyond's Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp is always a rewarding sight. We had two sightings today – one on the island in front of the camp with two females and a young male, and North East towards the bridge where the big boys are enjoying the day under a shady Jackal-Berry tree. What a way to start...

It’s not often that we get to see rare and endangered birds, but when we do, it’s an amazing experience! We went on an afternoon safari hoping to see some lions. Within five minutes, we saw a pair of Southern Ground Hornbills. One had something in its beak that looked like a snake and after we left the them, just within a minute or so we...

I always find the last game drive with guests the most special. We were driving past a dam filled with hippos and the sun was slowly getting behind the clouds, the hippos found it to be the perfect temperature to leave the dam to go for a morning snack! As we had stopped to view the hippos, we heard some alarm calls from impala just in front of us....

Later on the 7th. The male lions we saw were still showing some signs that they still want to hang around with the females!

We went out on a fishing trip on the main channel for our camp. the fish was not biting like always then we decided to try our luck to look for this nocturnal(night crawler) bird, and get some fishing tips, how he does it during the night. my tracker Elicious , went out into one of the islands closer to where they have their nest. we left him to look for...

Our day started at 05.00 this morning and by 05.15 we were out of the camp. It was me, Radi and Oscar, and we decided to drive as far as we could to try and get to see what we have been missing in areas that we don't go to every day. By 06.30, we had travelled a long distance and just as I looked on to my left, I just shouted, "Leopard! Oh, Oh!...

I was privileged enough to take one of the &Beyond Directors, Kevin and his family (Ashley and Alex) on game drive. We were mainly birding and it was a good morning. We went into one of the islands, which we can only access when the water level is low. Today the water level was just reducing. So, we did not know what to expect as we had only driven...
