Xaranna
&Beyond's Xaranna Tented Camp is situated near a permanent channel of the Okavango Delta in 25 000 hectares of pristine wilderness that is shared by only 18 guests. The Camp boasts breathtaking views of the channel, providing guests with a water and wilderness experience that combines the best of what the Okavango has to offer. Birders should watch out for the elusive Pel's fishing owl, while the endangered African wild dog and semi-aquatic red lechwe are endemic to the area. |

This year the flood waters have been exceptionally high in the Okavango Delta . The fish have taken advantage of this by breeding with great success. As the waters start to recede it draws the fry closer to the main channels, attracting predator fish and birds. Here a Squacco Heron lands in the reeds, ready to start its feeding frenzy.
