With the morning's leopard sighting none of us on Safari thought we would be in luck to see another one of the Prince of Cats in the afternoon. Alex (guide) took us north towards the woodlands around Xaranna Lodge and the plan was to search for some Lions. We crossed a few seasonal channels and at some points thought the vehicle was going to drown due the...

This morning's plan was to make our way down towards one of the river channels and spend time on the delta in a Makoro Canoe. Alex (our guide) warned us that it would take about thirty minutes to get there depending on the animals we see on the way. Within 5 kilometers from Xudum Gently (out tracker) noticed fresh young male leopard tracks on the road...

This morning Alex took us to one of the recently discovered floodplain grasslands to search for more bird species, and hopefully add to our checklist of the Okavango Delta. He did warn us that last time he tried the vehicle got stuck, but that wasn't going to deter us! The water levels seemed to have subsided and we were in for a treat. Upon arriving we...

Driving through the Mopane Woodland we noticed in the distance large birds of prey circling and landing. Initially, we all thought that a carcass had been left by some predator(s) and the vultures had come in to pick on the bones, pulling of the final scraps. We raced towards the birds, only to be greated by a different phenonemon- Winged Termites...

We were stunned by sighting two lions about 100 meters to the airstrip. We were going to meet our new guests who were going to spend a night at Xudum and we felt honoured to have these animals as a welcome crew!

On our way from the airstrip we spotted a leopard up on a Sycamore Fig tree.It was lying so lazily on the branch that the sight of a hyena on the ground below took us completely by surprise. The hyena also seemed not to care about what was up on the tree.Remember these are two fiece enemies and a leopard often come out second best, and end up seeking...

I was walking to my room from the evening gamedrive and what got my attention was a bush baby calling or mobing, just some yards from the bush baby there was a nice sub-adult python.

Early in the morning, just before sunrise, and we're already in the field and this morning our hopes are to find leopard, pel's fishing owl and maybe the cheetah! Like everyday, the game is very good, we saw some Ground Hornbills, baby tsessebe and it seemed like we are not winning with our hopes. Our worry was that we had to be back at the lodge early to...

It was a very lovely afternoon, the sun nicely hidden under the clouds and the weather looked promising rain. We had a little surprise for xudum guests as the workers pooped out of nowhere with an afternoon choir session, we are obviously going to announce our new name for the guests and the world to know. After all that, we're out of camp for our hunt...
